ABOUT CAPITOL LAB BAND
Founded by trombonist and composer Eric Jesteadt in 2016, Capitol Lab Band is a 17-piece big band that promotes the continued existence of jazz in the DC area by playing originals by band and community members and hits from the modern repertoire. Come check out a show to hear music you won’t find anywhere else!
As a "laboratory" band, our primary focus is the exploration of the jazz idiom via the realization of original work, be that compositions, or novel arrangements. If you are a DC area composer/arranger with charts for big band, we would be more than happy to give them a try.
